Terms of Service

Last updated September 1, 2026.

These terms govern your use of PingLocate. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What the service does

PingLocate sends a location request by text. The person you reach receives a link and decides whether to share their location. A location is shared with you only if they open the link and accept. There is no other way to obtain a location through this service.

Acceptable use

You agree to use PingLocate only for lawful purposes and only with the consent of the person you are contacting. You will not:

  • Send requests to harass, threaten, stalk, or defraud anyone.
  • Attempt to obtain a location from someone who has not consented.
  • Use the service to send spam or unsolicited bulk messages.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or abuse the service.
  • Send requests to minors except as a parent or guardian with lawful authority.

We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who uses the service in a way that harms others or violates these terms.

Consent is on you

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the service is lawful where you and the other person are located. In many places, contacting someone to request a location is lawful when done honestly, while secretly collecting a location is not. Using a request as a cover for surveillance may be a crime. See our guide on consent and the law for context, and consult a lawyer if you are unsure.

No guarantee of results

PingLocate does not guarantee that a request will be delivered or answered. The person may not receive it, may not open it, or may decline. The accuracy of a shared location depends on their device and may be approximate. We provide the service on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PingLocate is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any outcome that follows from your use of the service, including actions taken or not taken by the person you contact.

Intellectual property

The site and its content belong to PingLocate. You may not copy, resell, or republish it without permission. Guides may be shared with a link back to the original.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
