About PingLocate
Location, by request.
PingLocate is a small, independent project. It exists for one reason: the phone-number location niche is full of sites that lie to you, and we built the honest one.
Search “track a phone by number” and you will find page after page promising a person’s live location the instant you type their number, in secret, with no action from them. Every one of those promises is impossible. A phone number does not contain a location. It is a routing label: a country code, an area code, a carrier assignment. No website can turn that into a live GPS point, because there is nothing to turn.
We can say that with confidence because we build in this space.PingLocate is not our first web tool, and before we wrote a line of it we spent time picking apart how the “trackers” in this niche actually work, and how the scams work. The two are not the same thing.
What PingLocate does
You enter a phone number. PingLocate sends the person a text with a link. If they open it and agree, their location appears on your map, with the accuracy range shown plainly. If they decline, you get nothing.
That is the whole product. There is no app, no account, and no way to skip the other person’s choice. We do not pretend otherwise, because a secret tracker cannot exist, and anyone who sells you one is selling a story.
Why we lead with the limits
Most tools in this niche make money by telling you what you want to hear. We make ours by telling you what is true. That means saying the uncomfortable parts out loud: results depend on the other person acting, accuracy depends on their GPS, and a number alone gives you nothing.
We would rather lose a sale than lie to you. A person who trusts us comes back, and a person who got scammed never does.
How PingLocate makes money
PingLocate is free to use. It pays for itself through advertising and a small number of affiliate products we stand behind, clearly labeled. We do not sell your data, and we do not charge for the core request.
Who writes this
PingLocate is written and run by Alex Morin, who builds web tools and wrote these guides after researching how phone-number tracking actually works, and how the scams in the niche operate.
