Questions about consent at the tap
Can I get a location without the person tapping?
No. This is the single most important thing to understand, and it is why we are honest about it: no service can produce a person’s live location from their phone number alone. Anyone who promises that is lying to you.
Will they know I asked?
They see a request to share their location. It does not name you. The request itself always asks them to share their location.
Is this spying?
No. Spying means collecting someone’s location without their knowledge, and PingLocate does not do that. The person receives the request, sees it, and decides. That is the difference between consent and surveillance.
